Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a pediatric cardiologist?

A pediatric cardiologist is a doctor who takes care of children’s hearts and cardiovascular system. They help babies, kids, teens and young adults who have heart problems — like a heart that beats too fast or too slow, or one that didn’t form the usual way before birth. They also are experts in high blood pressure, high cholesterol and assessing family risk of heart problems.

These doctors take detailed histories and perform thorough physical exams. They use special tools, such as an echocardiogram (a picture of the heart made with sound waves) and an EKG (a test that shows how the heart is beating), to find out how a child’s heart is working.

  • Are you accepting new patients?
