About Dr. Sylvana M. Hidalgo
Dr. Sylvana M. Hidalgo is a pediatric cardiologist at Pediatric Cardiology Diagnostic Center in Los Angeles. A native Angeleno, she is honored to care for the families and children of the community she has always called home.
Dr. Hidalgo graduated from Yale University before earning her medical degree from Wake Forest School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at Columbia University Medical Center in New York, then returned to California for fellowship training in pediatric cardiology at UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital. She is board certified in both Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology.
Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Hidalgo provides compassionate, comprehensive cardiac care to patients from infancy through young adulthood. She believes in partnering with families—taking time to listen to concerns, answer questions, and ensure parents feel confident and informed about their child's heart health. Her practice blends clinical expertise with a genuine understanding of what families need during uncertain times.
Outside the office, Dr. Hidalgo enjoys cooking, traveling to new destinations, and spending quality time with her husband and three children.

Cardiac Studies
At Pediatric Cardiology Diagnostic Center in Los Angeles, we offer comprehensive
cardiac studies to evaluate your child's heart health. Our diagnostic services include electrocardiograms (ECGs/EKGs) to measure heart rhythm, echocardiograms to create detailed images of the heart's structure, Holter monitoring to track heart activity over time, stress tests to assess heart function during exercise, and advanced cardiac imaging such as CT and MRI scans. Cardiology Consults
We offer cardiology consultations to evaluate your child's heart health. These consultations address a wide range of cardiac concerns, including heart murmurs (the most common reason pediatricians refer patients to us), congenital heart disease, chest pain, fainting and dizziness, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, irregular heart rhythms, sports participation clearances, cardiac screenings required before starting ADHD or mental health medications, evaluations for children with a family history of heart disease, and specialized assessments for conditions such as Marfan syndrome, Kawasaki disease, and cardiomyopathy.
